Question: How long will the wind
turbines last?

Questions

Wind projects are designed with a 25 year planned life. Because of their modular structure at the end of the project the turbines are removed easily. Concrete foundations are below the surface, these are normally left similar to existing bedrock and landscaped over.

As technology develops different solutions will emerge to meet our demands for clean energy. At the moment, wind energy is the cheapest and most practical source of renewable energy to tackle the immediate problems climate change. It may well be that other technologies, such as wave or tidal power may develop in the next 10 – 20 years such that further generations of wind energy will not be required. Wind turbines may only exist for the next 20-25 years.
