Question: What is constructed as part
of a project?

Questions

Initially any necessary access works and tracks will be constructed or upgraded. Foundations for the wind turbine(s) will be laid, and underground cabling put in from the wind turbine(s) to a small control building. The control building is single storey, approximately the size of a car garage and houses the electronic equipment and parts. At the same time the local grid will be connected to the control building, normally by low voltage wooden pole cabling, the same as used for most rural connections.

The wind turbine components: tower, nacelle (the unit on top of the tower) and blades will be delivered by lorry. A mobile crane then normally takes only one day to erect each wind turbine. The wind turbines are normally turning and generating electricity a few days after erection. Finally the site is made good with all site equipment and presence removed.
